Ingredients That Make an International Band Gig a Complete Success!
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycV7iyyBzLYFollowing a fantastic trip to Cairo here are five ingredients, which we think will make your wedding, Jewish event or corporate party a complete success anywhere in the world!
Organization
Take some time and think through every step of journey to think what the band will need to make the trip run smoothly. In a Cairo, we were flown out the day before and very kindly given an envelope of Eyptian pounds for a phenomenal dinner the night before at the Abu Al-Sid restaurant.
Logistics for an International Band Gig
Book a travel agent to take care of all of the bands transfers and help with immigration. We made friends with travel agent ‘Bob’ who organized a fantastic trip to the pyramids on our morning off. This made the whole experience truly memorable for everyone. His local knowledge was invaluable for organizing a smooth trip particularly when negotiating the Egyptian rush hour!
English Speaking Crew
When performing abroad, with exception of the guitars, all equipment is hired locally. There’s no point in having Rolls Royce equipment if we can’t communicate with those who are running it. If you can't guarantee a sound engineers with great English and equally good ears, it is really worth flying one of our UK engineers out.
Customs
Spend plenty of timing making sure everyone is well versed with how you would like the event to run. No two events in the UK are ever the same, so obviously there are going to be substantial differences when performing in Egypt, Dubai or India. We know that an overseas gig will run a little differently and adopt a flexible attitude accordingly.
Accommodation
Book the best hotel you can afford for the party band. An international chain is normally a good bet. Working overseas is always grueling and not helped by any time zone changes. Giving a comfortable hotel room will do wonders for how refreshed your band look!If you would like some ideas of an international function band playlist or a bespoke quote why not fill in our party band booking form?
