Professional Party Band
So you’re trawling the Internet for trying to find the perfect band for your Jewish Simcha, corporate event or private party and you’ll probably find yourself in front of many, many bands all claiming to be a professional party band. This blog post explores what that really means. In the literal sense to the word a professional act is function band that does it for a living. However, behaving professionally is something slightly different. I’m sure you’ve all seen the legendary film “The Commitments”; who tour the Irish club scene bringing soul music to the working class folk of Dublin. Still one of my favorite films to date which culminates in the fantastic scene drunken drummer Mickah Wallace getting in the most phenomenal pub brawl! Along with other classics like the Blues Brothers’ these sorts of antics can give clients a certain degree of anxiety when booking a function band for their wedding. At Metropolis we spend a lot of time reassuring clients that they will have simply the most wonderful stress free day. Here’s some of the ways it’s done:• All events are fully contracted to give every party peace of mind. Our contracts are based on a standard contact issued by the Musicians Union• Whist the odd glass of wine will never go a miss, all of our musicians never over indulge drinking alcohol. A great performance depends on it. Also, most of them drive to the gigs and their living simply depends on it.• Professional musicians also mean professional equipment. An old battered PA simply isn’t acceptable in this day and age. All equipment is excellent condition and is tested before leaving our warehouse. This ensures everything works floorlessly and looks immaculate making sure nothing can hinder your special day.• With well over 10 years in the business we’ve got a huge portfolio of clients who will happily endorse what we do. We’ll happily put you in touch if you’d like an independent reference.• Punctuality, courteousness, flexibility, dressing appropriately are all a given. Many of the myths can be dispelled by a quick phone call or email – so why not drop us a line to find out more!
