Anyone who regularly goes to charity balls knows that there are many elements which make a great event. The point of the evening  is to always raise as much money as possible for a worthy cause. Guests arrive knowing that they will often gladly part with hundreds of pounds (maybe more!). However, they always want something in return ….. That quite simply is a great evening’s food and entertainment.The last part of the night is where everyone let’s their hair down; amazing food has been consumed; incredible bids have been made in the auction; all that’s left is for guests to dance and sing the night away. This is where party band Metropolis come into their own for their stunning live music sets.

Having performed at many, many events like this over the past 10 years, we thought we’d share a little about the Benevolent Ball, which took place last Thursday at the Dorchester Hotel on London’s Park Lane.  Anybody who has been following this years Masterchef will know what a prestigious venue it is, having none other Alain Ducasse as their head chef.  Another fabulous evening with never an empty space on the dance floor was had. Here’s a little from one of the organisers, Marina Mello:“Metropolis has become much loved staple of our Benevolent Ball and never fails to provide top class entertainment. Even as the Ball nears its conclusion the dance floor remains filled. I would recommend them to any company looking to add excitement and a touch of class to their event.”The Benevelent is what’s called an industry charity. Often far from as high profile as the likes of Great Ormond Street Hospital, who we have performed for many times before; these charities look after people who have worked in specific industries. In this case it is the Drink industry – as they say “It’s about helping our own”.
